As the system ages, leaks or cracks can occur and will cause water damage. In addition, excess water from condensation builds up which will also lead to damage. To avoid this problem all you need to do is clean and inspect your HVAC system regularly. 
  6. Invest in certain systems such as a waterproofed basement or flood detectors. Though these can be expensive they are worth the investment especially for commercial properties.
